Cruisin' the Cape
Live up the finest lifestyle South Africa has to offer along the coasts of the Western and Eastern Cape. Starting in Cape Town, one of the most beautiful cities in the world, you can enjoy some of the most spectacular views climbing Lion's Head mountain right in the middle of the city, and unwind afterwards with diverse (and affordable!) culinary delights down at the harbourfront. Impeccable South African wines come from the vineyards of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, just outside the city, and nothing makes a better day than a wine tasting venture out into the countryside. A short jaunt down Cape Point brings you to the Cape of Good Hope, where colonies of jackass penguins have set up their homes minutes away from local residents living in quaint suburbs all along the coast. For the more adventurous, Hermanus offers great white shark cage diving, or if you prefer to keep your feet on dry land, this beautiful town has been called the best land-based whale watching spot in the world, and in the right season you will be sure to catch a breach if you watch long enough! Then head down to the southernmost point on the continent of Africa to witness the junction of the Indian and Atlantic ocean, before driving through the little Karoo where you can ride ostriches and visit hot mineral springs and ancient Karoo bath houses. If your sense of adventure isn't sated yet, consider cage diving with crocs and interacting with cheetah and lion cubs. End this spectacular journey with a skydive over Plettenburg Bay, then grab a surfboard and hit up the world renowned breaks at Jeffrey's Bay. Unwind after all that in a fire-heated tub with a spectacular view at the edge of a cliff in the Hogsback, and call this trip a day! But we would recommend sticking around for the second 20 day trip, there is a whole other side of South Africa to see!
