Songkran - Thailand New Year's Trip: 10 Days
The World's Greatest Waterfight
The Thai New Year, known as Songkran, is celebrated with an insanely fun and chaotic 3-day long water-fight. It occurs each year from April 13-15 and is one of the most unique and memorable events you’re sure to ever attend! Let’s be clear, this isn’t neighbourhood kids with super soakers. Songkran is a no-holds-barred free for all with pumps set up in moats and trucks driving around with their boxes full of people hurling buckets of water. And everyone participates, whether you’re a local or a foreigner you’re fair game! We celebrate Songkran in the historic northern city of Chiang Mai, the city goes all out for Songkran and it makes for an awesomely festive and safe atmosphere that is perfect for anyone to join in on. And then after Songkran is over, we’ll retreat from the chaos and disappear from civilization on an adventure filled 3-day jungle trek around the hill tribe villages north of Chiang Mai. On the trek, you’ll get to swim in tropical waterfalls, ethically meet elephants in the jungle, take a bamboo raft down the river and experience how the hill tribes live first-hand. Talk about an unforgettable 10-day trip!
