It’s hard to describe a feeling or a way of life that you have discovered to be the one you truly wish to pursue and be a part of. From what I have learned and experienced when you find such a thing - get busy livin it!
Its way easier to say that you should take a passion such as travel and run with it. It was after three years at the university of Ottawa when I stumbled upon Free and Easy and took my first journey to Thailand and fell in love with it. But like I said, the real world jumped back in my face and before I knew it, 2 years had passed with more time at school and a few years of work that was going nowhere for me.
Turning 25 was it, it felt as if it was get out there and travel or live the suburban lifestyle I was taught through corporations such as university. So I said screw it and took off. Traveling free and easy was of course the only way to go and I spent time in Indonesia, the Philippines, and a few more months in Thailand. The more time I spent immersing myself in new cultures, experiences and meeting countless new people, I couldn't help but want more.
I sometimes would feel emotions of regret and resentment for not pursuing something I knew was a true passion and genuinely made me happy sooner in my life. Then I realized there are no restrictions to travel, you cant be too tall, or to old, to black or to white, the world is always open and that regret and resentment has turned into happiness in knowing I still have so much world to travel and discover. This new appreciation and a new job has given me the opportunity to share and see traveler's reoccurring travel experiences or their very first ones and that has definitely become the biggest reward.
I hope to see you traveling, where we can live our lives so very free and easy!
