Sawatdee krap, Hola, Dia dhuit, Goddag, Salaam Alaikum, and HELLO! Ben here! Just practicing some of the greetings I have used during my travels around the world.
I’ve been to many corners of the earth and count myself blessed for all the doors which travelling has opened up to me. It puts a huge grin on my face thinking about linking up with fellow travelers making countless inside jokes and at the same time soaking up breathtaking views, culture and sun.
After completing 6 years in the Canadian Forces, I decided it was time to set up a South East Asia trip. This is where I was introduced to the most rad adventure group around- Free & Easy! I spent twenty-five days in Laos, Thailand and Cambodia. It was a trip packed with more than you could ever imagine! My days were filled with temples, jungle treks and elephants. I spent countless hours floating down rivers on an inner tube and of course, exciting nights out on the town! On day 25 I was nowhere ready to go home so again, Free and Easy came through with 20 days of paradise in South Thailand where I got quite comfortable with the “no shoes, no shirt, no problem” way of life! 20 days of living on a beach with some of the coolest people I had ever met—now that’s pretty sweet livin’.
Travelling is freedom. You become in charge of your adventure. You decide, "Hey! Today do I want to wander the streets, strike up a convo with someone from a different country, or do I just pull out a good book and find a place to hang for the day?" Free and Easy organizes trips that give you the opportunity to do things on your own terms. Your only goal is to make the most of every day and hopefully be exposed to some of the most beautiful places in the world. That’s what it’s all about, isn’t it?…So when you see me around say “Hey Ben!”… and we can explore together
