I have been working with Free and Easy since the summer of 2003, and man-oh-man, it has be an amazing experience the whole way. The time I have spend traveling in Thailand with the Free and Easy crew has had a genuine impact on my outlook and appreciation towards living…and I hope to keep it rolling for years to come.
This summer will be my fourth journey through the “land of smiles” and I cannot wait to get back to the most beautiful and generous country. The Thai people and culture, the gorgeous white sand beaches, the crystal clear ocean water, the dense rainforest jungles, the delicious food, the exciting night life, the insane scenery and sunsets, the bucket sets (don’t worry…you’ll see…), the cool travelers from all over the world in search of life and adventure; all of these characteristics hold my imagination entirely captive when I'm there and make me wish I was already back.
Traveling has become an integral part of my life, and I have been very fortunate to have the opportunity to explore a few corners on this here globe.
I believe it is essential and refreshing to get out of the North American mind set, appreciate how other cultures live, and take in a whole different way of life. I’ve defiantly noticed the more I have traveled and learned about other cultures, the more I have learned about my self and where I come from. That's also what I think it so interesting to explore Thailand with a group. It's a cool vibe to have all these different personalities and interests feeding off each other, learning new customs and traditions, all discovering Thailand in their own way. The group dynamic is fun and full of endless possibilities because all these diverse people are bringing their own experiences, expectations, and energies to the table. It creates an environment where anything is possible.
I’m defiantly excited about the prospect of another trip through Thailand, running with Free and Easy, traveling around a beautiful and friendly country, and meeting all the cool and crazy group members that make these journeys so memorable. I don't think I can adequately put into works my enthusiasm and appreciation for traveling, or for the time I’ve spent (and will continue to spend) in Thailand, but I look at these backpacking adventures like this: they can be an individual experience or a shared group experience, a super chill time or a crazy party time; the most important thing is that you get out there and find out for yourself. Can’t wait to see you out there.
