I will never forget that feeling of the first time I went traveling.  Coming from a small town in Alberta, growing up I always dreamed of going to amazing places and now my time had come.  Similar to many, my first destination was a whirlwind travel through Western Europe.  Upon my arrival back home, I remember thinking that that changed everything.  There was no way that I wouldn’t make travel a part of my life somehow.

Fast forward a few years.  After a few other trips to various places, the time was finally right for me to quit my job and travel.  Deciding on a destination was tough but by a sure stroke of luck, a good friend of mine told me he was traveling to Thailand with Free & Easy.  Having never heard of them before and having never been to Thailand, I decided that it was worth the risk and signed up the next day.   With my travel plans of using Free & Easy to get used to the area and then traveling the rest of the area after the tour, my adventure began.  From sunny beaches to watching the sun rise, I was in love with this place.  So much so, when Curtis asked me to stay on with the groups after my tour was done, I changed my travel plans to do so.  Sure, I never finished what I set out to do on those travels, but I wouldn’t change it for the world.

My role in Free & Easy has changed since then.  No longer am I in South East Asia but rather helping out with the business as a whole.  Even helping set up new destinations along the way (check out Nicaragua in 2010)!!!  Free & Easy Traveler is not just another tour company but rather a family that shares our knowledge of backpacking with those who aspire to do the same as we have done.  I truly hope that your life will be blessed as much as mine has by what we offer at Free & Easy Traveler.
