Steetlight Canada & Free & Easy

Streetlight Canada is a student-based organization created to be a supporting body to Streetlight Philippines. We believe that every child is able to succeed when given the right tools and environment to do so. We want to be the provider of those tools! Can you imagine having to do you homework assignments on the streets? Or worse yet not being able to attend school because you have to spend your day begging?

With the help and funding of Canadians, Streetlight Philippines has been able create their Study and Development Center. This gives children living on the streets access to a free breakfast, school uniforms, equipment, medical checks and a safe educational facility where tutors are readily available to help with homework.

Streetlight Canada holds three focuses:
FIRST
To create awareness in Canada about the current issue of child poverty in the Philippines and the opportunities Canadians have to change this growing trend.

SECOND
To create sustainable financial support to help give opportunities to street children.

THIRD
To support Canadian volunteers in their efforts to reach Tacloban*

Starting in May 2010, Free & Easy Traveler will aid Streetlight Canada in their fight to help the children of Tacloban receive education and support in their struggles of daily life. Through donations of time and money by Free & Easy Traveler...Streetlight Canada will hopefully continue to grow its exposure and efforts in the Philippines (and the world!!) and really make a difference in the lives of these great children.
