On the east coast of Nicaragua we'll be visiting the crystal clear Carribean waters of the Corn Islands This means spectacular scuba/snorkelling.
So many sunsets....
During the 20-day trip we will spend 4-5 days in the Corn Islands. Of all the activities there are to do here...this is the one we recommend most!
Whenever you're near the sea you can bet on this.
"The Run Down" is a local event on the Corn Islands...it's a stew filled with everything you want and cooked all day long. To be consumed with rum.
Burritos!
The Run Down is always accompanied by a bon fire and late night festivities!
We live simply...next to paradise. Backpacker style.
We'll also get a chance to check out the colorful, colonial town of Léon for a few days.
Léon boasts the largest cathedral in Central America.
Nicaragua is very devout Catholic society.
Cerro Negro is an active volcano near Leon.
And we're gonna climb it.
then...
we're gonna jump on a board and rip down it!
The view from the top of Cerro Negro ain't so bad either....
Nicaragua is known as the "land of volcanoes" for good reason.
You will know this well by the end of the trip ;)
If you decide to get on a kayak and go exploring you'll be treated to all sorts of great views and tons of wildlife.
San Juan Del Sur - this little port town is the ultimate in chill. You can hang by the beach or grab a surfboard and travel to any of the many surf breaks nearby.
One of several surf shops in San Juan Del Sur
After San Juan Del Sur we'll mover ourselves more directly to the surf spots and actually stay right on Maderas beach.

Nobody knows hammocks like Free & Easy ;)
