On the east coast of Nicaragua we'll be visiting the crystal clear Carribean waters of the Corn Islands This means spectacular scuba/snorkelling.
We're going to start off the 20-day trip with 4-5 days in the Corn Islands. Of all the activities there are to do here...this is the one we recommend most!
Whenever you're near the sea you can bet on this.
Burritos!
We live simply...next to paradise. Backpacker style.
We'll also get a chance to check out the colorful, colonial town of Léon for a few days.
Léon boasts the largest cathedral in Central America.
Nicaragua is very devout Catholic society.
Cerro Negro is an active volcano near Leon.
And we're gonna climb it.
then...
we're gonna jump on a board and rip down it!
The view from the top of Cerro Negro ain't so bad either....
Nicaragua is known as the "land of volcanoes" for good reason.
Next we'll be heading to Lake Nicaragua to stay on the Island of Ometepe.
Ometepe is unique because it is an island comprised of two volcanoes. One active and one dormant.
Ometepe is an island....which means beaches as well!
For those who enjoy a challenge you might choose to hike one of these monsters!
Ojo de Agua (Eye of the Water) is a natural springs on Ometepe with crystal green waters. An amazing place to cool off and spend a lazy afternoon.

The ferry back to the mainland.
San Juan Del Sur - this little port town is the ultimate in chill. You can hang by the beach or grab a surfboard and travel to any of the many surf breaks nearby.

After San Juan Del Sur we'll mover ourselves more directly to the surf spots and actually stay right on Maderas beach.
