Saigon
Saigon (aka Ho Chi Min City) is the southern counterpart to Hanoi. While people usually describe Hanoi as the more traditional city, Saigon usually gets called the more "westernized". Which makes sense with its history entwined with the American's during the war. Besides the great shopping and vibrant nightlife a visit to Saigon usually entails some fascinating sight seeing. You can check out the War Museum and get the Vietnamese perspective of a war we've all heard so much about. The Cuchi Tunnels are an amazing look at how the Vietcong lived underground for months at a time in an effort to infiltrate the Southern forces. HCMC will be filled with shopping, touring, eating, drinking, and the crazieset traffic you'll ever encounter!
