Accommodations for the length of your free & easy experience
We have chosen some amazingly comfortable and stylish resorts
at some destinations, but also chosen more basic backpacker bungalows
at others. You'll normally be sharing a room or cottage with one or two
other travelers of the same sex.
Group Travel within the Philippines
From buses, to boats, to taxis, jeepneys, ferries, and airplanes, we
will be experiencing Philippines travel in an exciting and adventurous
style. We prefer to take land travel hopping from island to island, but
we’ll also be taking 3 flights within the 40-days.
2-day rice terrace trek & adventure
Before we’ve even made it to the beach, we start the trip off with
this awesome adventure into Northern Philippines. The rice terraces are
truly stunning. With our local guides, we’ll hike approx. 3 hours/day
in and out to the village where we’ll spend the night. Many many
highlights along the way.
2-day secluded island & lagoon boat expedition
While staying on Siargao Island, we’ll venture out into an isolated
area of islands with empty beaches and all sorts of natural wonders.
The ‘Sohoton’ cave and lagoon is protected park land, and they have an
amazing lodge with enough beds/rooms for our group - a perfect home
base to explore the lagoon AND for a festive night with our group.
Manila Intramuros & Cathedral Tour
We will kick off our first full day of the trip with a cool guided
tour of the most impressive historical site in Manila. From the days of
Spanish colonialism, Intramuros is a tiny walled city with a remarkable
16th Century Catholic Cathedral.
Chocolate Hills & Bohol Exploration day trip
1268 cone shaped hills - all of which are approximately the same
size - burst up from the landscape across a small area of Bohol Island
to create an extraordinary geological formation. This day will involve
a whole lot more as we visit waterfalls, and the rare animals at the
"Tarsier Visitor Center".
2 knowledgeable and fun Free & Easy leaders
As with any Free & Easy trip, your group will have 2 leaders
that know Thailand and our destinations thoroughly. The knowledge,
character, and enthusiasm of our leaders are essential ingredients to
the 'Free & Easy' trip recipe. Our leaders bring the group closer
together and inspire fun ways to enjoy the trip to its fullest. Check
out our 'Trip Leaders' section for more info about our leaders.
Free & Easy Philippines Travel Guidebooks
We have 2 editions of this guidebook. 'Philippines Preparations' will
be sent out after we receive your initial deposit. You will receive
'Philippines Experience' once you arrive in Manila.
'Philippines Preparations' will give you all the info you need to
know
for planning and preparing for your Free & Easy trip. It will
explain about any important tasks you must do before traveling to the
Philippines, and make sure you are packing the right gear. It includes
information on passports, visas, insurance, flight requirements,
vaccinations, scuba diving, and some of our personal suggestions on how
to prepare for a big trip to the Philippines.
'Philippines Experience' has been designed to help introduce you to
the Philippines and the places we'll be visiting. This book can act
like a
'Lonely Planet' travel guide in that it gives you ideas for how to
create your own experience within your chosen destination. This
guidebook will be
especially useful because it's specific and in depth to the places we
visit, so you can better understand how to make the most of each
destination.
