The Cave City of Cappadocia
Heading east to Cappadocia is kind of like taking a step back in time toward the middle east, the intense volcanic landscape is very different from anywhere else on the trip. The areas unique geological landscape has formed hundreds of "Fairy Chimneys" which are spires of rock that protrude from the ground. As far back as the 9th century people began carving houses churches and cities into these rocks creating a fascinating place to visit. Hot air Ballooning has become very popular in Cappadocia for good reason, the Ballooning conditions in the area are some of the best in the world and the landscapes to be viewed from balloon are truly spectacular.
