Kuta in addition to being the Sunset Site Number One - with its daily spectacular sunsets - is also the centre of night life activities in Southern Bali, and a shopping mecca - with its lines of shops, boutiques, and galleries. Delicious restaurants line the streets, internet cafes are abundant, and you'll meet more than a few Australians who come to enjoy the laidback, surf town.
The beach of Kuta was one of the first beaches discovered by tourists in Indonesia, and is still a favourite. On the south, the beach is fenced by the airport’s runway, which gives you a breathtaking landing experience. The beach stretches as far north as the eyes can see, and waves will invite you to test your surfing.
There are many day trips and activities that can be done from Kuta including white water rafting, kite surf trips, cooking courses, and just about anything else you can think of. As this is one of Bali’s main tourist headquarters you can find just about anything.
